                                        Artist Manifesto

As a Visual Communications & Digital Media Arts major with a concentration in Advertising Design, my artwork has improved. I have come a long way in gaining more experience in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. I understand it is very vital for graphic designers to understand how to use these programs and know what they are used for.
This summer, I continuously watched YouTube tutorials on how to use certain tools/features on these programs. It has made me feel less intimidated with the various buttons that are available. It has also allowed me to design better art pieces for my internship and senior show.
My artwork can be described a simplistic, vibrant, and eye-catching. As I gain more knowledge in these programs I want to become an advanced graphic designer. My reason for this is because I want to create artwork that might be perceived as complex or difficult to design. But in reality it is not as hard as it may appear on the outside. Becoming an advanced graphic designer takes time, patience, and knowledge.
Overall, I really love being an Advertising Design student. There are so many ways to express yourself in this field.  I have the opportunity to design my own fonts and use color to help my viewers understand the mood/emotions of an image. I definitely believe my graphic design skills will come in-handy when I become a certified school counselor. I can use these skills to create posters and motion graphics film for elementary or middle school children.
